We are Holland Norway Lines!

Holland Norway Lines is a young organization founded in 2021. We have been sailing with our cruise ferry, the MS Romantika, on the North Sea between the Netherlands and Norway since April 2022. This makes us the first direct ferry connection between both countries! With this new line we connect two regions, which opens up a world full of new opportunities and possibilities. For holidaymakers, but also certainly for businesses in both countries. Throughout the year we sail between the Netherlands and Norway, offering sustainable and comfortable crossings and holiday packages.

A relaxed and comfortable crossing

From Eemshaven, in the northernmost tip of the Netherlands, we offer the fastest way to travel from Northwest Europe to Norway. After arriving in Kristiansand, in the south of Norway, you will find yourself directly in the ‘Norwegian Riviera’ and you can also easily travel on to, for example, Oslo or the beautiful fjord area! Instead of driving all night, you can drive your own vehicle on board and your holiday starts as soon as you embark the ship!

On board the ship you will enjoy a unique experience on the most comfortable passenger ship in the Netherlands! Departure from the harbor and enjoy the view over the sea. When the evening has fallen, you can dine in our restaurants, shop at a duty-free rate or watch the live entertainment with a drink, before arriving at your destination the next morning after a good night’s sleep in your own cabin.

Sustainable and ambitious

The vision of Holland Norway Lines is to be at the forefront of introducing and developing new, climate-friendly technologies on board the ship and the ports where the ship docks. We aim to introduce a zero-emission cruiseferry in 2026! In a sustainable future, our ships will be powered by hydrogen/green energy. In addition, sustainable energy during the stay in the port, waste separation and working with local suppliers are important in our vision.From 750 passengers, a journey with Holland Norway Lines is already the most sustainable way to travel between the Netherlands and Norway.

Driver of economical development

The province of Groningen and the Kristiansand region will work closely together to ensure mutual developments in the fields of tourism, sustainability and the economy. The ports of HNL are both located near train stations and therefore the perfect option for train travelers. The direct route provides an important new connection between the two countries and will lead to new unique opportunities for entrepreneurs in, for example, tourism and logistics.
