  • Crew manager / People Ops onboard

    Our people are our most important assets. The team on board makes sure that our guests have the absolute best experience possible once boarding our vessel. We all know that a happy crew reflects directly in better commercial results and a better guest experience, which is why we are looking to add a dedicated colleague to our onshore team to look after this group of colleagues.  

    You work closely together with our external partners to further develop our entire crew journey, from onboarding to the appraisal process and evaluating & optimizing partnerships. Regardless that we work together with multiple partners for crewing purposes, we want to create a true ‘One HNL experience’ for every crew member.  

    In this role, you are an important link between People & Culture and the Commercial Operations team ashore. We are working towards a ‘One HNL culture’ and with the People & Culture team ashore, you will be responsible for ensuring this is shown in the crew journey for our onboard team.

    We are an international, ambitious, and fast-growing cruise ferry company. We are currently operating between Germany (Emden) and Norway (Kristiansand). The MS Romantika is a high-quality ship with a maximum capacity of 2,500 passengers and a diverse range of facilities on board, including restaurants, bars, a theatre, and a casino.     Your responsibilities are (amongst others):  

    • Evaluate the onboard commercial crew planning and quality control 
    • Conduct interviews for the commercial crew (head of departments only) 
    • Take part in salary discussions and approval, based on the CBA 
    • You report to the People & Culture Officer 
    • Achieve the highest possible level of crew satisfaction and retention 
    • Ensure and secure the necessary number of Scandinavian-speaking crew members 
    • Further develop knowledge of maritime business and maritime CBA for the cruise ferry industry applicable to HNL (experience in the industry is highly preferred) 
    • Set up, plan, and execute onboarding (training) on board the MS Romantika 
    • Support the onboard management as a source of information for on-board crew members 
    • Steer and support the onboard teams and external partners to achieve targets and crew retention 
    • Have weekly meetings with all crew-related stakeholders and ensure they can perform effectively and efficiently thanks to your input and guidance, using the ‘One HNL Experience’ as a guideline 

    Job requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related education 
    • Some years of experience in human resources or related fields of work 
    • Experience in or with the maritime business is an advantage 
    • You show an open learning attitude and are a self-starter 
    • You possess strong communication skills 
    • Proven ability to keep an overview and to be able to prioritize  
    • Result-driven, proactive, hands-on mentality and a team player 
    • You have a proven ability to align people, processes, and technology to deliver value 
    • You are willing to sail along on a regular basis to get to know the team and the work (at least one trip per month) 
    • You speak and write English fluently  
    • You are available for 36 – 40 hours per week 
    • Our offices are located in Groningen (Netherlands) and Kristiansand (Norway). Living close by is an advantage but not a must

  • Passenger Service Medewerker (NL)

    Wil jij als Passenger Service Medewerker bij een team horen die de cruise-ferry industrie aan het veranderen is? Ben jij gastvrij en representatief? Ben jij communicatief sterk, het liefst in meerdere talen? Dan is deze vacature wellicht iets voor jou! Als medewerker van het Passenger Service team ben jij het eerste aanspreekpunt voor passagiers die op reis gaan met Holland Norway Lines.

    Wij zijn een internationaal, ambitieus en snelgroeiende cruise-ferry die tussen Cuxhaven/Emden (Duitsland) en Kristiansand (Noorwegen) vaart. De MS Romantika is een hoogwaardig schip met een maximale capaciteit van 2.500 passagiers en een gevarieerd aanbod van faciliteiten aan boord, zoals restaurants, bars, een theater en een casino. Alles wat wij doen, doen we met daadkracht, verantwoordelijkheid, respect en toewijding.

    Wat ga je doen?

    Als medewerker van het Passenger Service team ben jij het visitekaartje van Holland Norway Lines. Op dagen van afvaart zorg jij op de terminal in Cuxhaven/Emden ervoor dat passagiers vriendelijk te woord worden gestaan en ingecheckt worden. Op dagen dat wij niet varen werken wij vanuit ons kantoor in Groningen. Hier beantwoord je de telefoontjes en mails van onze passagiers. Je bent dus bereid om zowel tot juni in Cuxhaven en vanaf juni in Emden als in Groningen te werken. Uiteraard wordt het vervoer naar de havens in Duitsland geregeld en verdelen we de werkdagen in Duitsland zoveel waar we kunnen! In de rol van Passenger Service Medewerker ga je nauwkeurig te werk en hou je de belangen van de passagier en het bedrijf altijd in de gaten.

    Jouw profiel
    Je bent voor 30 (4 dagen) – 36 (5 dagen) uur per week beschikbaar. Jij spreekt de taal van onze passagiers, in het Nederlands en Engels. Daarnaast is het spreken van Duits een pre. Spreek je ook nog eens Noors, helemaal top! Verder heb je een flexibele werkhouding en vind je werken in het weekend geen probleem. Gastvrijheid staat bij jou hoog in het vaandel en je hebt een vriendelijke en open houding.

    Holland Norway Lines is currently in the process of setting up her organisation on board of the MS Romantika. We are a young, ambitious and committed cruise ferry company that operates in an international environment. We want to set a crucial and strong basis for our team in on board.
